Each winter since 1999 Leonardo's Basement has worked with Barton Open School to offer the Barton Inventor Fair for students in grades 3-8. Student inventors design and build inventions during six after-school building classes. The program concludes with an evening celebration at the school.
Instructors from Leonardo's Basement are available to lead home school students interested in building group and individual projects. We work closely with you to design an activity that reinforces your academic curricula. Classes can be held in our workshop or at your site.
We provide hands-on creative project building for students in classrooms, similar to art residencies, and in after school community education programs. These can be one-time enrichment sessions or a series of work periods to explore subjects in greater detail. We prefer to build upon existing educational initiatives and to reinforce your established themes.
We can also design one-time or multiple-sessions for scout troops, parks and community centers, churches or even small groups of neighbors or friends.
